My Kids Would Lock Themselves in a Room With Grandpa and Record Something on His Phone. Every Time, I Heard the Same Strange Sound From Inside… One Day, I Couldn’t Take It Anymore, Opened the Door, and What I Saw Left Me Stunned 😱😨

At first, I wasn’t worried at all.

My father had always been very close to my two children, eight-year-old Lily and six-year-old Ben.

Whenever I left them with him, I knew they were safe.

They played together, watched movies, and kicked a ball around in the backyard.

But about a month ago, everything started to change.

One evening, when I went to pick up the kids, I found all three of them sitting together on the living room couch, watching something on my father’s phone.

The moment I walked in, Dad immediately turned off the screen.

“What are you watching?”

Ben opened his mouth to answer, but Dad quickly said,

“Nothing. We came up with a little game.”

I smiled.

But Lily gave Grandpa a strange look.

Then Dad said,

“Don’t tell Mom yet, okay?”

My smile disappeared.

“Don’t tell me what?”

“Nothing important.”

I waited for him to explain. He didn’t. A few days later, the kids stayed with him again.

That evening, the moment I walked into the house, I heard a strange sound coming from the backyard.

A scratching noise. Then three quick knocks.

Knock. Knock. Knock. I stopped. A few seconds later, the same sound came again. Then I heard my father’s voice.

“Now! Record it.”

I hurried toward the living room. Lily was standing by the window holding the phone. Ben was beside her.

Dad was standing behind them.

“What are you doing?”

All three turned around. Lily lowered the phone.

“Mom, we were just…”

Dad interrupted her.

“That’s enough. We’ll continue tomorrow.”

Now I was genuinely concerned.

“Dad, what are you recording?”

“Nothing dangerous.”

Those words only made me more nervous.

“I didn’t ask whether it was dangerous. I asked what’s going on.”

He stayed quiet for a moment. Then he said,

“I’ll tell you when I’m sure.”

That night, while driving the kids home, I asked them,

“Did Grandpa tell you to hide something from me?”

Lily looked out the window. Ben said,

“Grandpa said Mom would get scared.”

My hands went cold on the steering wheel.

“Scared of what?”

He shrugged.

“I don’t know.”

The following week, everything became even stranger.

Every time the kids were at Grandpa’s house, they stood by the same window at around the same time in the evening and recorded videos.

They compared new recordings with older ones on the phone. And sometimes that scratching sound came from outside again.

Once, I even heard Dad say,

“Did you see it? It went through the same place again.”

Lily answered,

“But we still can’t see its face.”

I didn’t sleep that entire night.

Who was passing by?

Why was my father watching someone with my children? Why was he hiding it from me?

Two years earlier, there had been a burglary in our neighborhood.

After that, I wouldn’t even let the kids play outside alone in the evening.

My father knew that very well.

That made his behavior even more upsetting.

The following week, I stopped asking questions.

I decided to follow them instead.

I dropped the children off at Dad’s house as usual and told him I would be back in two hours.

But instead of going home, I drove a few blocks away and returned half an hour later. I parked across the street.

The lights inside the house were on. It was almost eight o’clock.

Then I saw my father.

He brought the kids into the living room. Lily held the phone toward the window.

Dad whispered,

“It should come any minute now.”

At that moment, I heard the sound from the yard. Scratching. Then a dull thump. Dad said,

“Record.”

I couldn’t take it anymore.

I opened the door and walked inside.

“Enough.”

The children jumped.

Dad turned around.

“Sarah…”

I immediately took the phone from Lily’s hand.

“What are you doing with my children?”

“Mom, we…”

“Ben, Lily, go to the kitchen.”

They left.

I opened the most recent video on the phone.

At first, there was nothing. Just the empty backyard.

Then something dark moved quickly across the right side of the screen.

I froze. The continuation read in the comments ‼️👇‼️👇

I opened the previous video.

The same thing.

Then another.

Again.

Every evening, almost at the exact same time.

“Is that a person?” I asked.

Dad shook his head.

“I don’t know.”

“And you’re using my kids to film it?”

“I’ve never let them go outside. We always record from inside the house.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

He sighed.

“Because after that burglary two years ago, you panic at the first sign of anything suspicious. If I told you something was coming into the yard every night, you would have stopped bringing the kids here that same day.”

I wanted to argue.

But I knew he was right.

“Then what is it?”

Dad took the phone back and stood near the window.

“That’s what I’ve been trying to figure out.”

At that exact moment, we heard the sound again.

Scratching.

This time, everyone went quiet.

Dad opened the back door.

“You stay here.”

“No. You’re not going alone.”

We stepped outside together.

A few steps later, something moved beneath the bushes.

I stopped.

Then two eyes appeared.

And the next moment, a large, thin dog stepped out.

It wasn’t attacking us.

It simply stood there.

Then it walked to the back door and scratched it with one paw.

Exactly the sound we had been hearing for weeks.

Dad crouched down.

“There you are.”

I stared at him.

“A dog?”

“Every night. Same time.”

The next day, we took the dog to a veterinarian.

It had a microchip.

A few hours later, we got a phone call.

The dog’s name was Max.

He had gone missing almost four months earlier from a family nearly thirty miles away.

When his family arrived, the first person out of the car was a girl around ten years old.

“MAX!”

The moment the dog heard her voice, he pulled away from my father and ran toward her.

The girl dropped to her knees and wrapped her arms around him.

Her mother was crying.

I looked at Dad.

“You could have told me.”

He smiled.

“I could have.”

“But you didn’t.”

“Because on the first night, you would have called the police, animal control, and probably half the neighborhood.”

I couldn’t help laughing.

“Maybe.”

Lily spoke from beside me.

“Grandpa was right.”

I turned toward her.

“You stay out of this.”

We all laughed.

For an entire month, I had been convinced my father had involved my children in some dangerous secret.

In reality, he had only been trying to understand why a lost dog kept coming to the same door every night.

And because of those strange videos, Max finally made it home.
